"sign/i/fy" is being used half-jokingly here, in case you wondered.. but there's commentary on at least three traditions concerning that part of the poem. To say it's half-joking, though, denies the fact that the first draft was rather earnest in line with my passion towards these contradictory traditions, but the half-joking aspect keeps me from dumping a poem that uses 'sign/i/fy' in that way, a poem which serves the time spent on it acceptably.
