That’d be some night on the Zócalo, if 2.5 million ballots had gone missing AND the soccer team advanced to the finals, plus Italy deserves it…

As of 330 am EST, Calderon needs 8.83% margin of victory in the remaining votes to win and has been getting around twice that in the recently counted ballots. A 16% margin is fishy of course. This figures to go on much longer than the recount.

Seems eerily similar to the Bush v. Gore dead-heat.

AMLO is going about being cheated much better than Gore and Kerry, but as Al Giordano said on the link, his course of action is probably ill-fated and rigged just like the US Supreme Court.

AMLO has given the Mexican people an honest leader to rally around and fight for, whatever one thinks of his tactics. In the PRI era, when the oligarchy dictated, there was no alternative like this.

Subcomandante Marcos said: “Nosotros no estamos en la onda electoral, pero…” “We (the Zapatistas) are not in the electoral wave, but…” This is a test to see if democracy can work as it has in South America.
